Not very well maintained. Mounds are over grown, hard to locate.
The trails are good. The parking is great. The mounds are very interesting.
Nice park
I have gone many times to Lizard Mound Park and have always loved the huge trees which gave it a feeling of a natural cathedral. I went today and was horrified to see all the trees being removed. I understand the intended idea-make it clear as it once was when the native peoples made the mounds-but we have so few wooded areas left. I feel the lack of tree cover makes the mounds seem smaller and less important. I can't go back, it is too difficult to view the bare mounds.
it was fun we went there for a field trip.
